LIVE CODE MAD is a working group dedicated to research artistic creation using open source software, specifically live coding tools. Through regular meetings, this group experiment with different languages, technics and platforms specifically created for algorithmic audiovisual creation.
Some examples of those tools are: SuperCollider, Tidal, Extempore, Overtone, PureData, Sonic Pi, Foxdot, etc...
> Objectives
The goal is to develop knowledge about live coding on an open and free way. Our meetings seek to be a common place for everyone interested on live coding as a place to share tools, technics, ideas, projects and also to share the possibility to take part on events. For that, relevant live coding documentation (papers, books, etc) and software will be study, and showed. In order to promote accessibility, events will be online streamed. Regularly, works develop within the group will be presented at Medialab Prado.
> Team
Anyone interested on digital art can be part of the team. Specially gender, raze and cultural minorities on the field of technology are welcome. It is no needed to know how to program to take part of the team. It is mandatory to bring your own laptop to get started with live coding. If you like electronic music or digital art and you are willing to learn more about it just join us.
