Metahumanism and Common Body

Metahumanism also broadens the critique of contemporary capitalism and its mechanisms of affective production that formulate new challenges for the social commons. In this preemptive war of affective appropriation its necessary to define new strategies through which we may resist the new global technologies of assimilation and colonisation.

Schedule for Winter-Spring 2012:

16.02.2012: Debate around the Devisual Manifesto

The Devisual Manifesto was produced during the lasty Devisualize workshop in July 2011. In it visibility and devisualisation are proposed as complementary strategies, the latter being a reaction to the complusive tendency to visualisation of all reality that pervades media culture as a concealed or explicit paradigm of control. [+info]

March: Debate around Commons of form and Commons of the amorphous: two complementary strategies (with local guests)

Deepening into the debate around the Devisual Manifesto we shall see that there is no intrinsic opposition between visualisation and devisualisation, yet it is urgent to introduce in our political agendas the foregrounding of all that which isn't subject to the regime of representation, identification and form, these being constitutive of a particualr social and power order, but not necesary conditions for a livable life.

May: Forum on Metahumanism and Common Body (with international guests)

In this longer event we will be able to deepen into the debates around metahumanism and the common body that will embrace themes ranging from bioethics and Human Computer Interaction to then redefinition of sex and the body beyond categories of gender and species.
