Manufacturing objects that can manufacture objects. Continuing with the same aim as the RepRap project, and under game rules, a community is emerging that evolves and takes very different paths from its original goal. From making a printed part or set of parts for a printed model through to printing hundreds of parts to demonstrate a community's manufacturing power at an event. From open source 3D printer parts to puzzle pieces that will be part of collaboratively manufactured chairs. From replicating machines that replicate to designing replicating machines and other kinds of machines. From taking other people's designs to creating other designs of one's own. From its beginnings, the community has stayed in touch through digital tools and physical events; it has no clear hierarchy but works like a multicellular organism without needing to take the form of a legal body that represents it.
