Repair Café Madrid 2024-25

Repair Café Madrid is a weekly meeting to repair small everyday objects and learn to look at them in a more sustainable way. Neighbors can learn how to repair their broken appliances with the help of handyman and accompanied by a coffee.
It also has a section of Electroganchillo.

Where

Repair Café Madrid meets at Medialab Matadero (Terrario room) starting in 2015 in the Serrería Belga building coordinated by the TimeLab working group and the Escala Digital mediation-research project, making use of the resources and tools available at the center.
To participate in the meeting no prior registration is required, just come on a Saturday between 18:00 and 20:00 with the device (electrical or electronic) that needs to be repaired.

 Objectives

The objectives of Repair Café Madrid are:

• Maintain and disseminate knowledge about repair.
• To promote social cohesion by establishing contact between neighbors.
• To reintroduce repair in the local society in a modern way.

Activities

In addition to the weekly activities of appliance repair and crochet we will participate in the following activities:

• Repair Day (October 19, 2024)
• Proximity Week (16-23 October 2024)
• European Week for Waste Reduction (November 16-24, 2024).

Outside Medialab, we also plan to participate in the 4th Repararte Fair in San Lorenzo de El Escorial (spring 2025).
