Rescued Circuits: Mini-workshops of creative reuses of electronic trash

This activity is organized by Obsoletos Project (Basurama), within the context of the Commons Lab workgroups. These 3 mini-workshops are aimed to think of new ways of handeling electronic material in order to create reuse systems. The final goal after de the workshop is to generate finished objects.

¿What is Rescued Circuits?

Obsoletos is a project by Basurama collective for the research, creation and promotion of creative systems of transforming technological waste, such as electronic and storage devices or hardware that has fallen into disuse: computers, periferics, magnetics tapes, motherboard,s, etc.

These three mini-workshops called Rescued Circuits are aimed to think of new ways of handeling electronic material in order to create reuse systems. The final goal after de the workshop is to generate finished objects.

Methodology:

Rescued Circuits is 3 workshop cycle of 2 sessions each and with independent contents, even though some of them give a good training base for the following ones.

In each mini-workshop one of the guests will show some of his works, explaning its reuse system. The goal of these mini-workshops is to understand and be able to reproduce the same system, in order to modify it, improve it or reverse it.

Technical Requirements:

It is convenient but not mandatoty to have a minimum knowledge of electronics and programming.

Work language:

Mini-workshop led by non-Spanish speakers will be hold in English, with occasional translations for complex concepts. The rest will be hold in Spanish.

Places:

There will be 20 available seats for each workshop, with independent registration forms for each of them. It is not mandatory to sign in for the three. Participants will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Registration deadline for the first workshop: May 4; for the rest: May 18.
