Fridays Openlab session at the old Medialab-Prado (2010)

There are two types of activities, open to anyone interested:

  • Presentations: Short presentations (5-8 minutes each) of projects, work groups, results of own researches, ideas to create new groups, etc. There will be a projector, speakers and internet connection available.
  • Demos: Playing with tools, presentations of prototypes and results, mini workshops, etc.

 

Proposed presentations:

Community Brewery. Community-oriented beer production. With Ricardo Merino and David Rodríguez.

From Hacking Food to Recycling Food. By David Rodríguez and Txomin Calvo.

Flowering. Terrarium and construction of a practical botany. By Lucía Domínguez.

The Science Club. Rethinking scientific dissemination from humor, performance, rube Golberg Machines, free publishing. Proposed by Cris Blanco.

Citizen CyberScience Centre. Presentation of the Citizen Cyberscience Centre, an international collaboration between the CERN, the United Nations Centre for Learning and Research UNITAR, and the University of Ginebra. Presentation of projects/plataforms of citizen science by Daniel Lombraña González. 

Deactivation and Networks. Proposal to create a works group about how social networks are deactivating individuals. Creation of artistic artifacts and robots, and data visualization. Presented byJavier Chozas.

 
Proposed demos:
Robot Lab. Projects about electronics and robotics. MADfab Radio Lab. Presentation of radio prototypes, such as a 3D printed radio (some parts) and a radio to remain connected even in apocalyptic situations. Presented by Juan Pascual and Gustavo Ferrari. With the collaboration of Electrónica Pascual and StereoPrint.com. Fab Lab. People 3D digitization (busts) to print it with Kinect. Clone Wars. 3D printing with plastic through FDM.
