As part of the public program Mortals of the World, Unite! , we present this theatrical workshop given by Agrupación Señor Serrano.
This workshop aims to be an introduction to the staging using digital devices through the work of the theater company Agrupación Señor Serrano. How does the intensive use of video on stage influence dramaturgy? what is the role of the creation of a code in a dramaturgy? What are the scenic potentials of a video camera, a screen or a smartphone? What is the role of audiovisual dramaturgy and how does it relate to the different elements of the staging process? What are the possibilities of dramaturgical development divided into phases of creation/presentation? What are the implications of a multi-layered dramaturgy? The workshop is based on several practical exercises carried out in four groups of three participants. From these practices, the company presents its trajectory and work methodology in relation to the use of video on stage.
The day before the start of the workshop (June 27), there will be a public presentation of the case studies that participants will work on throughout the workshop, under the title "Tentacular geographies of the eternal youth" (attendance recommended).
To whom it is addressed:
The workshop is aimed at directors, writers, actors and actresses, scenographers, video programmers, spectators, cooks, firefighters, doctors, pilots and common people in general.
Workshop methodology:
Throughout the workshop, theoretical parts will be interspersed with practical parts, being the practical exercises the ones that articulate the workshop.
Participants will work in groups of 3 using scenic devices similar to those used by Agrupación Señor Serrano: a work table, objects, performance, mobile devices and a projector. There will be several practical exercises to understand and get into the company's way of working. At the end of each exercise the participants will make a presentation that will serve to reflect in group, draw conclusions and add complexity to the next exercise.
Participants should bring:
- Laptop computer
- Cell phone
Prior to the workshop, each participant must inform the organization which computer, which operating system and which cell phone he/she is going to bring to the laboratory. Depending on the characteristics of each of these devices, the company will request in advance that some of the participants install certain free software.
