Day 5 - Monday

This was the day of our big shopping request. We ordered 2x60 packs of addressable LEDs and the power packs for them. Now all we need to do is find a way of controlling them. Sophie developed her idea for the light installation. Whereas before we had been thinking of a sphere, triangle or cube that contained the LEDs, Sophie suggested a series of infinity mirrors. This will make the sculpture more noticeable.

The game engine could now identify people, add them to teams if they were not on them, change the state of the lights based on game rules and had a random function that changes the distribution of the lights each time the state changes. Also, the program is able to Tweet independently on behalf of the @YouAreAVirus Twitter account based upon game rules.

Simon gave a presentation at the end of the day outlining the changes that had been made to the project. Chema asked if the sculpture would react in real-time, which is the intention at the moment. He suggested that a delayed effect could also be considered. Abelado asked if the sculpture could enter a different mode if the hashtag went quiet and Simon agreed that would be a good idea, time permitting.
