Viduina

by Sebastián Antico

Viduina

Viduina consists of a system to put any kind of camera (video or photo) on, a system able of perform any kind of intelligent, controlled and repeatable movements. By programming this system the way we want to thanks to an Arduino board, we are capable not only of moving this camera in a precise way, but also of combining these movements with any kind of sensors, as well as the recording speed or the quantity of frames per second, minute, hour or day.

The Body Calls but the Soul doesn't Answer (El cuerpo llama pero el alma no responde)

by Jesús Barranco and Raúl Marcos

jesus barranco

An interactive performance and installation where one can have the experience of the materiality of the body yearning for the soul in the telecommunication universe. One performance and one interactive installation where one could go deeper on the duality or on the unity through technological erotism, necessary to possess the soul.

There is an unpredictable element on how one reacts to a non common message in an answering machine, but we would like to find out if it is possible to register that unpredictable element and use it as part of the material of a piece.

Adaptable Projections (Proyecciones Adaptables)

by Guillermo Casado Lacabra

proyecciones adapatables

The project aims to create a space where objects change their texture depending on their possition and orientation. Visitors can interact with objects simply by moving them so can react changing the way they look.

We propose to develop a simple system that allows to generate projections that automatically adapt to surfaces that can freely move. The first simple prototype could consist in a pendant rectangular area with certain freedom to move and rotate. Beside the detection system and surface tracking, an interactive content for textures will also be created.

Demodrama - Faces

by Enrique Esteban García, Patricia Esteban García and Ismael García Abad

demodrama

The project aims to create a stage set based on augmented masks, where masks themselves are transformed into moving frames for video and images that will overlap the actor's face. Projected images will follow the masks in the stage in real time, allowing to overlap digital faces to a physical body and defining different ways of interaction between them. This interaction can include sound (voice) mediation, body language of the actor himself, as well as facial transplant of actors and external users.

The choosen format is the "demodrama", an approach to show developed technologies. The work with actors and scripts will allow to explore different possibilities with augmented masks, and to put the results in a short performances format. Regarding the "demo", the demodrama could be exhibited as a permanent installation allowing new users to perform as actors following the ludic scheme of interactive installations.

Homeward Journeys

by Amaya Jiménez and Lara Sánchez Coterón

homeward

HJ are mini performances where typical characters of the postcapitalist society (an executive, a pornstar, etc.) make a spiritual trip. Technically, it consists of a series of "Search and Find Games", in which the public tries to work as an active agent (player), leading and helping the actor-executer to perform his task. The stage space is built from a modification of the graphic motor of QUAKE4.

Shift

by Kyle McDonald, Sophie Kahn, Lisa Parra & Chris Sugrue

Shift is a project that will research capturing, transcoding, and representing bodies in three dimensions. This system will be developed for a multi-media performance piece that looks to explore the body as object and the problem of how identity is manifested through it. Kyle, along with choreographer Lisa Parra, will investigate new approaches to capturing movement through the use of real-time 3D scanner motion capture techniques and live dance performance. The goal is to assemble a particular set of images in real time augmenting the dancers in space to show the process of transformation the deconstruction and reconstruction of the body and to represent the fragmentation of identity in its ever shifting imagery.

Colors and Orbital (Colores y Orbital)

by Daniel Sánchez Rodríguez

colores

Colores (Colors) is a project based on the construction and stage use of a sequencer that works with juggling balls. Objects are then handled, thrown, placed, and passed following the rythm of the sequencer.

orbital

Orbital is a collaborative work between a juggler and a video-artist. Over a transparent concave surface we can see a series of juggling patterns. One or more cameras capture the resulting figure and use it to create loops by distorting, mutating, and re-creating the original one.

single loop, double loop

by Mika Satomi

mika satomi

What if the costume of a performer could interface his/her movement and create an atmosphere of the whole performance? Instead of having a controller in their hand, these wearable interfaces seamlessly interpret the movement, which for the audience appears as choreography. The surface of the garment not only functions as a sensor, but foams a shape around the performer's body as he/she moves. The performer's movements physically sculpt their body and costume creating a visual impression, while digitally interpreted movement creates the auditory impression to the audience.?During the workshop, interface design, choreography and sound design process feedback each other weaving the final performance together.
