Svetlana related her experience as volunteer cardiologist in the Bosnian War. After this conflict she began to consider why their patients (victims) had shared their memories as a survival mechanism. In her book "Good People in an Evil Time" she collects these and other testimonials as a tribute to all those people who built a common memory and are example of civil courage.
